The Embertec SmartSwitch™ is provided and installed for FREE to South Australian households as part of the South Australian Government Residential Energy Efficiency Scheme, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and encourage the efficient use of electricity and gas.
The Embertec SmartSwitch™ is an Australian innovation: invented, designed, engineered, tested, safety certified and patented right here.
It automatically shuts down AV and IT appliances that are wasting power – and money – when you’re not using them, and turns them back on when they’re needed.
South Australian homes with the Embertec SmartSwitch™ installed are saving over $175* on their power bills every year. Already, over 700,000 Australian households have the Embertec SmartSwitch™ installed.
A maximum of 4 Embertec SmartSwitch™ units per household are available for free as part of the South Australian Government Residential Energy Efficiency Scheme.

*Savings calculations are based on: 1. a home in South Australia with an average of two AV Embertec SmartSwitch™ units and 0.5 IT Embertec SmartSwitch™ units per home. 2. an electricity price of 32c/kWh. 3. the approved ESCOSA carbon abatement factors for the products used, as at August 2012. 4. the South Australian greenhouse gas coefficient, as at July 2011.
