Eclipse LED

This LED ticks all the boxes. The Eclipse is a sleek diffused LED, seamlessly integrating with your ceiling to beautify and add value to your home.

It’s also dimmable, and delivers the brightest warm light in our range – 825 lumens.

Comparable LEDs are powered by 13-14 watts of power – but the Eclipse delivers this brightness with only 9 watts of power.

The Eclipse also has the widest light angle and the longest lifespan – with a normal usage projected life of 20 years.

Terminology

Wattage (W)

The electric power required by an appliance or device to operate. The higher the wattage of an appliance or device the more electric power it requires to operate. Energy saving lighting is about reducing the wattage used by a globe while maintaining similar light output. For example, a standard halogen downlight globe uses approximately 50 watts, but the equivalent LED downlight globe uses only 8 watts approximately.

Lumens (lm)

A lumen is a unit of standard measurement used to describe how much light is contained in a certain area. Lumen is the standard unit for measuring the brightness of a light. Essentially, the higher the lumens the brighter the light.

Kelvin (K)

Kelvin is the measurement used when referring to the colour of light (colour temperature). High Kelvin measurements (5,000K+) generally refer to cool colours e.g. blue white. Lower Kelvin measurements (2,700–3,000K) refer to warm colours e.g. yellowish white to red.

Cool colours are ideal for task-orientated areas like kitchens and bathrooms, while warm colours create a more intimate atmosphere suited to living areas and bedrooms.

Beam angle (°)

Beam angle refers to the spread of light from the fitting.

Lifetime (Hrs)

The lifetime of a globe is generally the number of hours it will last while turned on.

Dimmable

A globe that can be dimmed to emit a smaller amount of light. Not all globes will work with a dimmer. A dimmable globe is recommended for use with a dimmer.

Kilowatt hour (kWh)

A unit of energy equal to 1,000 watt hours.

Most energy users will be metered and billed by energy retailers in cents per kWh. The higher your kWh rate the more incentive you have to save energy through efficient technologies such as LED lighting.
